Hey! I’m Heather. I am a lifestyle + motherhood blogger, physical therapist assistant, and cosmetologist!
My name is Heather, and I am a 35-year-old full-time working mom. 3 years ago, I graduated from a physical therapist assistant program in the Houston area. After dating my boyfriend for 2 years long distance, my older son and I made the move to the Austin, Texas area. For the past 3 years, I have been working as a pediatric physical therapist assistant. If you’re looking for bloggers who talk about real life, I’m your girl! I am by no means perfect, I just try to do better each day.
Now I’m a momma to not only one, but two wonderful boys! My boys have a 12+ year age difference. I had my older son, Landon, when I was 21 years old. I also have an infant named Ethan with my boyfriend Justin.
Our sweet little guy, Ethan, has a genetic disorder called Cystic Fibrosis. That is part of what led me to come up with the blog name “Breathing Through Motherhood”. Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that primarily affects the lungs, as well as other bodily systems. In addition to that, I lost my dad last year to lung cancer. Things certainly haven’t been easy, but I am taking it one breath at a time.
Why I decided to start blogging
Ever since I can remember, I have always loved reading, writing( I was on my high school newspaper staff), and creating. Before I became a PTA, I was a hairstylist and worked in the beauty industry for over 7 years.
I decided to start this blog for moms. I want to build a community of supportive women and share tips and hacks I’ve learned, products we love, and share my journey through motherhood- past, present, and future!
Since I work as a physical therapist assistant, a big part of my job is helping parents address their children’s gross motor milestones. Because of this, I have put together a Developmental Milestone Tracker Spreadsheet that you can learn about if you click here!
I hope you enjoy reading these tidbits about how I navigate motherhood, taking it one breath at a time. Thanks for taking the time to learn all about me! If there are any questions you have for me, feel free to reach out!
